The National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) was established in 1999, in 2012 NICE become a Public Trust incorporated under the Public Trustees Act 1968.The overall objective of NICE as an independent and autonomous Trust is to contribute towards strengthening and deepening of democratic process and improved governance in Malawi for accelerated economic growth and poverty reduction.

HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Job Title: Human Resource and Administration Officer
Grade: NC4
Location: NICE Secretariat Lilongwe
Reporting to: Human Resource and Administration Manager
Responsible for: Assistant Human Resource and Administration Officer
Purpose of the Job
To assist in managing human resource and administration functions for efficient and effective operations of the Trust
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Leading in formulating and updating Job Descriptions for each post in liaison with heads of sections
2. Interpreting human resource and administrative policies, Terms and Conditions of Service and related regulations
3. Participating in the development/review of human resource and administrative policies, practices and procedures
4. Implementing staff recruitment and discharge activities
5. Ensure employees have access to essential information.
6. Manage confidential personnel records, including employment contracts and Paid Time Off (PTO) requests.
7. Handling staff disciplinary, grievances welfare, compensation, and pension issues
8. Arranging for staff induction in liaison with heads of sections
9. Carrying out human resource planning
10. Supervising the maintenance, rehabilitation and insuring of property and fleet
11. Providing counseling to members of staff.
Minimum Education Qualification and Attributes
Minimum Education Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field obtained from accredited Training Institution.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office.
- 3 years relevant work experience
